Choosing the perfect fresh cut Christmas tree

This is the fun part! Here are a few tips to consider when choosing the right tree for your home.

Noble Fir

Noble Firs typically have an open, layered appearance with strong branches, perfect for heavy ornaments. When decorated, lights and ornaments look natural on these trees, bringing even more meaning to the name, Noble.

Douglas Fir

Douglas Firs are very uniform in appearance; they have almost a perfect cone like shape. These trees are full and bushy with soft green needles. The branches can support a variety of different lights and lighter ornaments. The distinctive pine-like scent of Douglas Firs will fill your home throughout the Christmas season.

General tips:

Bring a non breakable ornament with you when picking out a Christmas tree. Test it out on a branch to gauge whether or not the tree will be able to accommodate your decorations.

Measure your space! Some trees seem smaller on an open lot than they would in your home. Locate the space in your home where you plan on placing your tree. Measure the width of that space first before heading out to choose your tree. If you have a large tree topper, like an angel or a star, make sure there is enough clearance for it by measuring the height of the tree, with a few extra inches for a stand.

Give your tree a really good shake before bringing it inside. This will help eliminate a path of loose needles and dust inside your home.

Water your tree! It is our pleasure to assist in keeping your Christmas tree as fresh and perky as possible, but our preservative won't work unless the tree also has water in the stand. Check your water level about every other day. Keep your tree away from sources of heat (fireplaces, heaters, heat vents, and direct sunlight). Lowering the room temperature will slow the drying process, resulting in less water consumption each day. Always turn off the lights when leaving the house or when going to bed. Never burn any part of a Christmas tree in a wood stove or fireplace.

Recycle your tree!
